I am Ave Sinijärv – the creator and ceramist of the Avenu brand.

I am a craftswoman at heart. I am fascinated by different materials, techniques and the possibilities of creating something with my own hands. Anything that can be made by myself makes my eyes sparkle.

My love for clay and ceramics began more than ten years ago. I started by attending a ceramics class once a week, but soon I felt that it was not enough for me. The desire to learn more and delve deeper led me to Olustvere School of Service and Rural Economics, where I graduated with a degree in ceramics in 2022.

I like it when beauty also has practical value. That's why I mainly make consumer ceramics. I love variety, experimenting and trying out new techniques. Every new item gives me the opportunity to learn something new and develop further.

I believe that there are already many things in the world. But ceramics could be something more – something that brings joy, creates a mood, and makes everyday moments a little more special.
