Studied in various art educational institutions of the Estonian SSR from 1964 to 1974.
She is a certified drawing and drafting teacher and a certified ceramic designer.
Viive Väljaots has worked as a designer in ceramic factories, as a specialist lecturer at the Estonian Academy of Arts, and has supervised children and adults in art circles.
Member of the Estonian Artists' Union since 1985 and member of the Estonian Ceramists' Union since 1993.
Since 1976, Viive Väljaots has participated in more than 100 exhibitions both at home and abroad.
Currently freelance.
